Zach NeSmith

Zach Nesmith is a photographer, filmmaker, and photojournalist living in New York City. He graduated from Winthrop University in 2014 with a BFA in commercial photography and has worked freelance for the RR Donnelley W26 photo studio in Charlotte, NC since 2014. He has extensively documented protests, punk and hip-hop scenes as well as drag culture in Charlotte. His work has appeared in Vice, NPR, Creative Loafing, Jacobin, and many others. His footage of the riots in Charlotte following the shooting of Keith Scott in September 2016 can be seen in Astra Taylor's new documentary, What Is Democracy?
